Suitcase Stories, Written and Performed by Maki Yi
With only her tiny suitcase in tow, Maki leaves her home in South Korea and t akes off for Canada, simply because her brot her had a map of Toronto.
After spending four weeks in Toronto taking English classes, Maki moves to Regina on the suggestion of a classmate. There, she discovers theatre. Enrolling in the local university to study theatre becomes her only option in life, launching an ongoing project of immigration visas, paperwork, loans, not to mention the challenges of poverty and racism.
